Why I can't access thumbdrives/CD-ROM storage in VDI?

Users are blocked from accessing Thumbdrives and CD-ROMs by design. This is to prevent transferring of data outside of VDI by unauthorized personnel and also to prevent viruses from being introduced into the VDI.
